THE MUSEUM - 24 carat
gold-plated "Georgie Pins", playing cards from
the Gorgeous George Turkey ranch, personal
correspondence, contracts, Christmas cards written but
never mailed (Gorgeous passed away on Christmas day,
1963), plus many of his most flamboyant ring robes
compile part of the vast personal collection gathered
over the years for eventual display at Slammers Wrestling
Gym®.
| In addition to
the extensive Gorgeous George Private Collection, other ring memorabilia noted in the
Slammers Archives includes The Fabulous Moolah's
diamond-encrusted eyeglasses, ring jacket and
wrestling boots, "Classy" Freddy
Blassie's baby blue wrestling boots and trunks,
and Ivan Koloff's ring cape and wrestling boots.
Add to items such as these 4'x6' color blowups of
many ring favorites, thousands of stills,
programs, vintage matches, videos, posters, and
one of the highlights of the collection, the
gold-leafed (original) life mask of "The
Super Swedish Angel", wrestler & film
actor Tor Johnson. Gallery quality black & white action
stills by noted photographer Shirlie Montgomery, are cherished mementos from this vast
treasure trove of wrestling's glorious past, all
part of the "Slammers atmosphere". |
